Kilmarnock aren’t a top-placed team - they find themselves near the relegation zone most seasons but have successfully dodged relegation from the top flight since 1993. This season doesn’t seem to look like that for them. We may only be 5 games into the season, but Killie have only managed to earn 1 point from a possible 15, after a lucky 2–2 draw with Hamilton Academical.
Kilmarnock were extremely disappointed after a draw to the Accies. Yesterday brought even more disappointment for Kilmarnock fans as they lost away at Motherwell. It really isn't going well.
Their next game isn’t very good for them either, as they are up against currently unbeaten (and last years’ league runners-up) Aberdeen. Aberdeen are favourites to win, which would take their disappointing run of form to 1/18 points.
It’s clear to say that Lee McCullogh’s team need to step up their game and improve, otherwise relegation could be likely, even a play-off position would be embarrassing for Killie. McCullogh’s job was to improve an already weak team, not make it weaker.
