Gabriel Jesus. This Brazilian striker has made a huge impact on the Premier League, despite only being here for under a year. Of course, when you sign for Man City, you've got to be at the top of your game. No random youngster off the streets of Palmeiras is just able to join. When I first heard about this signing, I though it was a joke. A 19 year old, no experience in the League, I mean come on.
After watching Man City's Premier League run come crashing down, it seemed like a miracle was needed if we had any hopes of winning anything (and I know what you're thinking, "you didn't"). But you have to admit, we did alright.
Suddenly, the day came. Man City vs Tottenham. My first thoughts were that we were not going to get three points (and we didn't, we got one). However, in complete honesty, I think we deserved a win because Gabriel Jesus was substituted on the field, and his first two touches was a header that hit the crossbar and a goal that was offside. From then on, my thoughts changed.
Gabriel seemed like he could do it all, from goals to crosses, passes to tackles, he really was the star of team. He even managed to make Aguero look bad (for a while at least)! It was sad to see him injured at Bournemouth, but injuries happen to everyone at some point.
Now the reason I feel as if Gabriel Jesus is the future of Man City is because I have never, and I mean never, seen a Manchester City player fit so perfect into the team. He follows Guardiola's tatics, and simply gets on with everyone, despite being one of the few Brazilians on our team. I see big things for him in the future and I see him become one of the best strikers in the world. Watch this space.
